Privacy
Apprank uses privacy-minimized counters for public board activity and keeps payment data out of public responses.
Public activity metrics
- Lifetime visitors are approximately deduplicated with a signed pseudonymous visitor cookie and an aggregate counter.
- Approximate online presence means activity recorded within the last five minutes.
- Verified clicks count once per visitor, listing, and UTC day. Counter transport failure never blocks an outbound product link.
Payment data
- When checkout is enabled, payer email and hosted payment processor references are used privately to initialize, verify, reconcile, and support a payment.
- Payer email, provider references, moderation notes, internal identifiers, credentials, and secrets are never included in public listing or statistics responses.
Safety and operations
- Destination checks process the submitted URL, DNS results, redirects, and bounded page metadata before checkout.
- Abuse prevention uses bot checks and privacy-minimized rate-limit identifiers.
- Moderation records are private operational data used for deliberate hide and unhide decisions.
